Iran Riding Tours

We offer a great variety of different kinds of riding trips and, if requested, additional cultural excursions. Our priority is the province of Lorestan in the middle of the Zagros Mountains, between the Caspian Sea in the north and the Persian Gulf in the south of Iran. This region is of great cultural importance (iron was invented in Lorestan 7000 years B.C.) and certainly one of the most picturesque and wildest areas of the country. Nevertheless it is still completely untouched by tourism and allows a great variety of unique riding and trekking trips.

For hundreds of years the Loric nomad tribes have migrated in spring from the lower southern parts of the Zagros Mountains to their northern summer meadows up to almost 2000 meters, returning back south in fall. The whole region is covered by an infinite network of old traditional tribal routes which lead along dusty roads or narrow mule tracks, through oak forests, deep canyons, over highlands and past refreshing waterfalls…

Everywhere in the purity and virginity of this breathtaking landscape the riders and trekkers meet the nomads of Lorestan who live their lives to a great extent untouched by civilization, following their traditional customs and habits. Helpfulness and hospitality are of utmost importance to them, deeply impressing those who have the privilege to enjoy their company.

In spring and fall - their migration time - we are even able to offer riding trips, following the routes of their migration: Northbound in spring, southbound in autumn.

This possibility is entirely due to our Iranian Arab horses. They also are untouched by civilization in the sense of avoiding breeding treats of fashionable beauty. In fact, Iranian Arabs are still bred traditionally, which means for tough conditions. Their character, intelligence and stamina make them ideal horses for all kinds of challenges, especially endurance rides. Those sure-footed and reliable horses manage to overcome even the most difficult obstacles of the ride and altitudes of more than 3000 meters - bravely and tirelessly. However, the riders, too, have to be experienced and fit.
